Why Polyurethane Outperforms Rubber
Rubber suspension bushes are original equipment on classic Land Rovers, but they have a fundamental limitation: they degrade. Over time, rubber deteriorates, leading to sagging, cracking and increased noise and vibration transmission. In European climates — where road salt, humidity and temperature extremes all accelerate this process — original rubber bushes can deteriorate faster than many owners expect.
Polybush polyurethane bushes last four to five times longer than rubber alternatives. They resist erosion from chemicals, road salts and other harmful petroleum distillates — making them particularly well suited to the varied conditions that European Land Rover owners encounter, from salted winter roads in Germany and the Benelux to the heat and dust of southern France or Spain.

For owners of classic Series Land Rovers who prefer to preserve the original appearance, Polybush continues to produce black damper and spring bushes for Series models and classic Range Rovers — a direct replacement for the original suspension bushes that blends seamlessly with the vehicle's classic look.
Bespoke Capability
Polybush staff are happy to consider producing bushes and kits to specific customer requirements. These have included expedition kits giving Defender radius arms more controlled location at the axles with extra-compliant chassis bushes for particular terrain, and for defence customers, radius arm to chassis bushes bonded to the triangular chassis plate to prevent sand ingress in desert environments.
